As my sig says I have a 2011 Lariat F250 with a 6.2 gasser in. It pulls our VLite with no trouble what so ever so I do not even know what possessed me to stop by my dealer on Friday. So what do I see, a 2011 F350 King Ranch the same color as our 250 and it has a 6.7 TD. Talked to the sales manager Sat morning and I now have it parked in my Quonset for a few days to try it out and see if we like it. One of the things that surprised me is it rides better than my F250. So now I am sitting here and have been soul searching all day today and discussing with DW trying to justify over 15k difference to trade my 250 in on this thing. Our trailer will likely only be out of the yard for 5 days this year and even in a good year 14 to 15 days. The truck is only used once maybe twice a month otherwise to haul water. I just cannot make any sense out of buying a diesel for my use especially when my 6.2 is such a blast to drive. I know if I were in mountains the oil burner would be nice but is is so flat here I think we can almost see North Dakota out our front door. So any thoughts on this from a common sense perspective? BTW I am not interested in how much better your Diesel is and how much less stress you have with a diesel. I know diesels pull better but I don't have stress from my 6.2 I actually love hearing it rev. As it stands unless I have a major change of heart by 3 tomorrow afternoon the King Ranch is going back.
