The family and I are getting ready to head out on our first long road trip. We have made reservations at the bigger, more popular spots we will be landing. My question is about the smaller, along the way places.
We will be stopping basically in the middle of the desert at a couple really small places just to sleep. We would sort of like the freedom to drive until we are tired and just stay at the closest place, but I'm wondering if we need a reservation to be safe.
What are your experiences? Do these type of places generally have openings? Or should we reserved spots along the route?
