Help with reattaching bed frame to slide wall

Our bed was attached using 4 - 2-1/2" pan head type screws to the slide-out wall, but over time it appears that the bed frame has moved up and down enough to cause the screws for bed frame to no longer be attached.

I’m looking for suggestions on how to reattach it to the slide-out wall. I’m not even sure if at the factory they lined the screws up with any wall studs from what I can see. Stud finder really no help and I've tried taping on the wall but can seem to find anything except on the corners. So maybe there are no studs in the slideout wall to secure the bed frame to.

I've been thinking of using a 4" x 1/2" plywood stip and glue / screw it to the wall and then use some fatter screws to secure the bed frame.

I've attached a couple pics of what the damage looks like.

Thanks in advance for your help.
